Japanese tennis star Naomi Osaka drops an adorable reaction after a compliment that she received from tennis legend Chris Evert. Osaka’s victory was after a long time since reaching the finals of the Miami Open in 2022. After that, Osaka suffered quite a saddening result in both the Australian Open 2024 and the Abu Dhabi Open. Now after, her impressive comeback with the Qatar Open, she receives a great compliment from tennis legend Chris Evert.

Osaka was on leave for one and a half years due to giving birth to her daughter Shai. Though she returned with the ASB Classic tournament, she had to exit quite early from the championship. Now following her return, Chris Evert drops praises for the Japanese tennis prodigy.

Naomi Osaka’s comeback was “just a matter of time”

After Osaka entered the Qatar Open’s quarterfinals, Chris Evert dropped a great compliment for the Japanese tennis star. Evert wrote- “It was just a matter of time. Greatness doesn’t disappear….@naomiosaka #patience.” Osaka was truly delighted to receive such a great compliment from a tennis legend like Evert. While she didn’t mention her feelings in words, her emojis expressed her inner joy. Osaka added a teary-eyed smiley with a heart emotion responding to Chris Evert’s compliment. 

Now Naomi Osaka truly deserved it since she faced a lot of criticism after not performing up to the mark in the season’s debut Grand Slam event. However, this Japanese tennis prodigy took over both Caroline Garcia and Petra Martic to reach the Qatar Open’s quarterfinals.

Now Evert has always been vocally impressed by Osaka. Previously she said- “Naomi has shown us so much compassion and kindness during her career that I think that’s going to translate that into caring for another human being, It’s going to be very healthy and almost healing for her, I’m really happy for her because I think it’s meant to be. I think everything happens for a reason, and it just takes all of the pressure off her and it takes all of the attention off her.”
