4-time Grand Slam champion Naomi Osaka didn’t play at the ongoing Chicago Fall Tennis Classic 2021. The Japanese start took a break from tennis after her exit from the US Open 2021. Surprisingly, she lost to Leylah Fernandez in the third round of the Grand Slam.

Naomi Osaka recently announced that she will not be taking part at the upcoming Indian Wells Masters 2021 as well. Since she is skipping so many tournaments, it is going to affect her rankings. The Japanese star is set for a drop when the rankings update.

Naomi Osaka to drop to the 12th spot in the WTA rankings

Former World No. 1 Osaka lifted the Australian Open title earlier this year. However, she hasn’t enjoyed great form or momentum since then and will drop out of the list of the top 10 WTA players soon when the rankings get updated next week.

Osaka will drop 1000 points because of her absence at the Chicago Fall tennis Classic 2021. This will bring her points down to 3,326 and thus will push her out of the top 10 players. Right now seated on the 7th position, she will soon become the World No.12 player.

Emma Raducanu to jump one place in the rankings

While the new rankings bring bad news for Osaka, they have a positive update for the US Open 2021 champion, Emma Raducanu. Even though the British star is also not featuring at the Chicago Fall Tennis Classic 2021, she is expected to rise one spot in the rankings and thus, climb to the 21st spot in the WTA rankings. Right now, she is the World No.22 player.
