Naomi Osaka Unveils Modish Australian Open Outfit From Nike and Its Uncanny Serena Williams Resemblance Cannot Be Ignored

A post was made by Nike today on their official social media account about the outfit that the comeback star Naomi Osaka will be wearing for her Australian Open 2024. The debut of her outfit in all black has made fans very excited about the details. However, one remarkable aspect of the dress is that it bears a striking resemblance to the outfit another tennis player wore in the past.
Serena Williams wore a very similar outfit in the final tournament before her retirement and the resemblance it holds to Osaka’s outfit is quite uncanny. Is it a deliberate symbol or a simple coincidence?

When Serena Williams retired, the brilliant US Open game was the last time fans saw her on the hard court. Clad all in black, she was all smiles as she played against Ajla Tomljanović, although losing in three sets. While it spelled the end of her career, Naomi Osaka is hoping for a kickstart to hers.

Williams’ outfit was a black ensemble with a crystal-embellished bodice, swirling skirt, and sheer sleeves. And when we noticed the same kind of bodice with crystals in Osaka, it was clear where the inspiration came from. Osaka’s dress is more conservative with a high neck and silver embellishments, and no sleeves. But another common fact is that both the tennis stars had their outfits designed by Nike. Even the bottom half of her dress looks similar to the swirling layer skirt that Serena Williams wore at her final tournament.
