The thoughtful gift from Yonex not only brought out the brand’s support for the tennis champion but also acted as a welcome gift to Shai in the family. Along with gifting the cute little racket to Shai, the racket for Osaka acted as a welcome gift for her highly anticipated comeback in the upcoming season.

Osaka’s prolonged connection with Yonex

As Yonex surprised Naomi Osaka and her newly born daughter Shai with an amazing surprise, it reminded fans of the connection between the tennis star and the brand. Back when Naomi Osaka was just a 10-year-old tennis enthusiast with dreams, her mom, Tamaki Osaka, took a step that built a connection that still holds tight. Tamaki wrote a letter to the president of Yonex in Japan, seeking support for young Naomi’s tennis dreams.

As the letter was taken into consideration, the Japanese sports equipment giant went beyond borders to give a response. Yonex sent the U.S. team to test the talented 10-year-old and after being impressed by her skills, the renowned brand decided to back young Osaka, initiating a strong partnership that lasts till now. While Osaka now stands as a successful tennis star and a business owner herself, she remains a proud member of the Yonex family.
