In 2016, Serena Williams posed for a photo with the Duchess of Cambridge, Kate Middleton, and the Countess of Wessex. Interestingly, they were not touching each other. Although they were smiling in the photo, it looked somewhat awkward. Moreover, Serena was very close to touching Middleton’s hand, which could have created a massive stir.

Notably, LeBron James once made this mistake back in 2014, when Kate Middleton and Prince William traveled to the United States. At that time, James was playing for the Cleveland Cavaliers. While taking a photo with Prince William and Kate Middleton, the basketball player touched the shoulder of the latter. This incident created a huge controversy among the Royal Family and in the media.

Fortunately, Serena did not face such criticisms despite being pretty close to the Duchess.
