Serena Williams is the epitome of success when it comes to tennis. The American superstar has won numerous laurels and titles throughout her illustrious career. She has an astonishing 23 Grand Slam singles titles to her credit and is just a title away from equaling Margaret Court’s record of 24 major titles.

Moreover, she also has had a successful doubles career. She has paired up with Venus Williams to win 14 Grand Slam titles. Add to that, the pair also have 3 gold medals in doubles at the Olympics.

However, Serena has been suffering from injuries lately. She was last seen in action at the Wimbledon Championships in June last year. Sadly, she had to retire in the first round itself after suffering a hamstring injury. Recently, the American icon has talked about her potential return to tennis.

Serena Williams admits she is back to training
The younger Williams sister mentioned that she is feeling good after being back on the tennis courts. She said, “I’m back to training, which is exciting. I’m just trying to make sure I’m getting a little more fit training-wise, just getting my body and my muscles used to the tennis training, because that’s totally different from just regular training. And then see what happens, no pressure.”

The 23-time Grand Slam champion has struggled with injuries over the past few years. She missed the latter half of the previous season and could only participate in six tournaments last year. Moreover, she failed to reach the final in any of these six tournaments. Her long absence from the tour has had a serious impact on her WTA rankings; Serena has slipped to the 247th position on the WTA rankings chart.
