Does Venus Williams want to become a tennis commentator?

Venus Williams has been away from the tour since August when she competed in the Chicago Women’s Open. However, her absence from tennis has caused her to get more involved with her fans. Recently, she engaged with her followers from ElevenbyVenus’ Instagram profile. EleVen is a brand which focuses on making activewear and even put out a special King Richard inspired retro collection.

One fan asked, “Do you see yourself doing tennis commentary in the future? You’re so eloquent!” To this, Venus jokingly replied, “Nope. No way I’m going to wait on more rain delays when I’m done playing,” and also added two rain emojis.

From her reply, it’s clear that Venus has had enough of waiting on rain delays and doesn’t plan on doing that once she’s retired from the sport.

Venus Williams played her last professional match at the Chicago Women’s Open in August 2021. She lost in the opening round itself against Hsieh Su-Wei of Taiwan. Since then, there has been no news from the American on her return to the sport.
