Fairness is what keeps the spirit of the game at a high. That is why, new rules and regulations have been put into action to maintain fairness in a game. Doping tests are also one of those ways which can help the authorities confirm if the player has used any external means to boost the performance of their body to gain an edge over the others. However, sometimes, these tests can also test the limits of a player. Belinda Bencic, the Swiss superstar, revealed a similar incident that happened to her recently.

Belinda Bencic shares annoying post-match doping tests

The Swiss player has been in great form of late. She booked her place in the Round of 16 after a sensational win over Alycia Parks. A match that lasted for 3-sets promised all the drama and action in which Belinda came out victorious. However, it was after the match that things started to get a bit tense.

In the post-match conference, she was asked how she would be putting up her quick recovery sessions after an emphatic victory over her opponent. Answering this, she said that she had to go through the doping test after playing a 3 hours match: ““I just spent one and a half hours in anti-doping not being able to pee after a three-hour match, of course. So I don’t know what they expect, and I don’t know why I have anti-doping when I won. So I just did that. I didn’t even eat yet. I’m here now. I had a quick ice bath. I had to beg them to have an ice bath and to have a shower actually. So it’s new rules. So, yeah, that’s how I recover, I guess. Not ideal,” she added in the post-match conference.”
