Naomi Osaka shares her wish for the younger generation
The former world number one-ranked tennis player is ready to step back on the court after becoming a mother and taking a break for around a year. Recently, at an event, the Japanese tennis player talked about how she would like to be remembered while getting real about her tennis future.
Rather than talking about making records and leaving a great legacy behind them, she highlighted her one wish that became the major highlight of the event. Even though she has taken big risks on and off the court, her core goal for her future is something that might surprise tennis fans.

She said, “But I think for me, at the core of everything I just want to, like, leave an easier path for the younger generation. And I think especially after I had my daughter, I know that I’m not going to be here forever, but I just want the people younger than me to have an easier time.”

The four-time Grand Slam champion emphasized the fact that she won’t be a part of the tennis world for long. Embracing motherhood and ruling the tennis court are quite different feelings from each other. Just a few months ago, the new mom penned an emotional message while sharing her realistic take on motherhood. She said, “Something I had to conquer recently is fighting the thought that I won’t be a good mom. So many doubts raced through my head. I had to swat them away like mosquitoes.”
