Polish World No. 15 Iga Swiatek came under the spotlight in the tennis world last year. At the age of 19, she won her maiden Grand Slam title, the French Open. Moving ahead, she is only growing as an athlete and a role model for younger athletes.
Iga has started her 2021 season on a decent note. Although she lost both the WTA 500 Melbourne and Australian Open before the quarterfinals, she found better form with the Adelaide International title win.
Most importantly, the Polish teenager even gained a nomination for the prestigious Laureus Sports Awards. In a Q&A with them, Iga Swiatek revealed some details about her and gave key advice to the next generation.

The hard work that was shown by her and her team brought back amazing results. Thus, she passes on her own mantra of success to the young girls out there.
“Be patient and have good people around you. Because even if it’s an individual sport, it’s hard to do it on your own,” Swiatek said. “I have great support around me, and without my team, I don’t think I would be in the place I am right now.”
Moreover, she understands the tendency of athletes wanting to do it all alone. But the Polish star stresses that the journey will be smoother only with a good team.
“Be over that you’re not going to make it on your own because it’s not a bad thing. It’s just reality, and it’s going to a lot easier if you have good people around you,” she said. Here is the whole Q&A.
