Serena Williams is having a great time after the US open 2022. She retired from tennis this season and will now focus on her business ventures and family, especially her daughter Olympia. The former world number one is currently seen attending various events and talk shows. She was recently invested in The Tonight Show.

The 23-time grand slam champion has played her part of the game and decided to evolve to the other intriguing part of life. 

Serena Williams explains her definition of retirement

The former World number one was a guest on The Tonight Show hosted by Jimmy Fallon. This was Serena’s first appearance on a talk show after this year’s US Open. When Jimmy asked about her retirement from the game, she corrected him and talked about her leaning toward a new beginning rather than retirement. She said, “I think retirement is something that’s super earned and that people work really hard for. And maybe I haven’t worked hard enough.”

Further, the 23-time grand slam champion added about her age is a good factor in leaning toward new things. She said, “But I just feel like I’m at an age where I definitely have a lot more to give, and there’s a lot more that I want to do. And so I’m not gonna be relaxing. There’s so much more for me, and yeah. I feel it’s more like an evolution of Serena. And there are so many things that I’ve been wanting to do for so many years and have such a passion for….. Now its time for me to start enjoying those things.”

Serena Williams has given her precious year to the sport and now she is ready to grow from the sport and try new things. And as said, she is not going to be relaxing and enjoying every time of this new phase. Her fans are eagerly waiting to see her next move.

Williams reveals her retirement plans 

Earlier this year, Williams announced her retirement from tennis in a vogue essay. She clarified, diving deep into other things rather than only one. She wants to expand her family with her husband Alexis Ohanian and wants to make Olympia a big sister. The former world Number one also wants to spend time with her five-year-old daughter.
