While the tennis world’s eyes are on the Australian Open, Bianca Fernandez is quietly making her mark at the 21st annual Freeman Memorial Tournament at the Fertitta Tennis Complex in Las Vegas, Nevada. Forging the path to glory, she won the title by defeating three top 100 opponents in three days, the last of them being Oklahoma State’s Lucia Peyre.

Bianca is ranked 580th in singles. Although it is a long way to go for her, she has her elder sister’s support to excel in her career. The two sisters have also played doubles together in the past. The younger sister’s latest victory puts her in a perfect position where she can launch her professional career to greater heights.

Last year, Bianca Fernandez was a regular player on the ITF Tour. She played in several different tournaments and performed decently. This year, she’ll aim to take her game to the next level.

Leyla Fernandez said, “The crowd was amazing. I felt their positivity, emotions. They came and supported both of us. They were very respectful to my opponent. I was happy to have played in front of a packed house for the first time in Montreal. It has a great atmosphere.”

Being away from home for the Australian Open, Fernandez will bank on the support of her close ones at the tournament. She next faces Alycia Parks of America in the second round.
