American tennis star Coco Gauff is having a brilliant year. The 18-year-old has performed consistently throughout the season and also made it to the WTA finals. Earlier, she made it to the final of the French Open in both singles and doubles leg. She also had a quarterfinal run in the US Open.

While she is reaching great heights at a very young age, the American has shown great maturity. Off the court also she has raised her voice for pressing social issues in the country. While one may be surprised looking at her political maturity and understanding, the American has never shied away from giving her opinion. Recently, she revealed why she never holds herself back while speaking about such issues.

Coco Gauff loves to express

At a very tender age, Gauff has shown tremendous social and political awareness. The 18-year-old has used her platform to deliver powerful messages related to various social challenges in the country. Recently, she revealed the reason behind being actively vocal about her political beliefs. Here’s what she said.

“from my family and from experiences. If I can make fewer people experience what I have, then speaking is my responsibility. History has shown that nothing changes by remaining silent. If we want to change things, we need to talk. That’s how I was raised. My parents and grandparents have always encouraged me to get involved politically, to keep up to date with what is happening in society ”.

Gauff loses her first match in the WTA Finals

After losing her first doubles match, Gauff again disappointed her fans as she lost her first singles match at the WTA Finals. The 18-year-old was up against French tennis star, Caroline Garcia, in her first encounter. Garcia showed great control and took only one hour and 18 minutes to defeat Gauff.

With this, Gauff ended her first round-robin match in a 6-4, 6-3 straight-set defeat. Up next, she will face Daria Kasatkina of Russia. Kasatkina also came into the match after losing against world number 1 Iga Swiatek.
