There is no denying that pickleball has piqued the interest of some of the biggest names in the sporting community. Back in 2022, Tom Brady and Kim Clijsters were announced as two new investors in the Major League Pickleball expansion team. Soon after the announcement, the Belgian tennis veteran recently revealed how a flurry of fellow moms in the school went ‘crazy’ over the American former football quarterback.

As they are part of a group led by Knighthead Capital Management, many would have assumed Clijsters knew Brady quite well. Proving many of her peers wrong, the 4-time singles Grand Slam champion recently opened up about the details of her pickleball connection with the NFL legend.

In the latest episode of the ‘Served with Andy Roddick’ podcast show, the Belgian tennis veteran was asked if she thinks Tom Brady knows anything about success in the new racket game. Kim Clijsters answered by saying, “Listen, it’s really funny, he does, I mean, I’m sure, but like when I drop my kids off at school, I never had people come up to me and ask me, when the news came out about the pickleball league, they are like, ‘Do you have Tom Brady’s number? Have you talked to him?”

Even though they are part of the ownership group for the MLP expansion team, the former world No. 1 player revealed that she has never talked to Brady. She said, “It’s crazy like, maybe that was, you know, like back in the day, that’s what happened to you all the time here in America. But, I have never had that happen, where like other mothers coming up to me like, ‘Oh my god, do you know Tom Brady, do you have his number?’ Like, no, I don’t have his number I have never talked to him, he is part of the team, but, never talked to him.”

Taking note of her honest answer, Roddick advised Clijsters on how she should make up her own story about meeting the NFL legend. He stated, “I don’t know, I wouldn’t let the truth get in the way of a good story, like we live in a world about alternative facts, I feel you should make up a story like I haven’t seen him since vacation in Mexico last year.” To this, Kim Clijsters replied, “Should I say he was in the jacuzzi last night?”
