The Green Day frontman said Serena would look to wrap up her games quickly and attend their gigs
Armstrong added that Serena would step up the heat on her opponents and wrap up games as fast as she could to give herself enough time to catch her favorite rock band live.
“I think she’d literally try to see how fast she could beat her opponent so she can actually come to the gig and she would end up showing up and she’d always ask us to play the song ‘Disappearing Boy’,” the rocker said.

He said that the song in question was one that the band wrote “years and years ago” and it was always at the top of Serena’s wishlist every time she attended the band’s concerts. “She’s great, one of the sweetest people,” said Armstrong, in fulsome praise of the tennis champion.
Apart from ‘Green Day’, Grammy-winning R&B singer Ciara and Kelly Rowland also figure high on her playlist. Serena is also a major fan of multiple Grammy-winning singer Beyonce Knowles and her rapper and music producer husband Jay Z. The celebrity couple has also been spotted watching Serena from the stands.
