There is undoubtedly a big hype about the upcoming movies, Oppenheimer and Barbie, which will hit theaters on the same day. Given the star cast and their directors’ track records, almost every other moviegoer is excited to watch arguably the two most anticipated movies being labeled ‘Barbenheimer’. Notably, a lot of memes, merchandise, and itineraries are already being made prior to the release of the movies. Amidst all this hype and craze, the Spanish tennis beauty, Paula Badosa has also been given a ‘Barbeneimer touch’ by the WTA circuit.

Paula Badosa gets involved in the hype surrounding Barbie and Oppenheimer

The ‘Barbenheimer’ craze has now transcended all boundaries as it also has reached the tennis realm. It was evident when the official Instagram page of BNP Paribas Open hailed their former champion, Paula Badosa, in their recent ‘Barbenheimer’ post. They shared two pictures of the Spanish tennis player that perfectly portrayed the themes of both films.

The British-American filmmaker, Christopher Nolan, recently revealed that most of the sequences in the historical thriller Oppenheimer were shot in black-and-white. Taking note of the central theme, the WTA player was given a ‘black-and-white’ touch in one of the pictures that she recently shared on her Instagram story.

Greta Gerwig’s Barbie movie, on the other hand, has been filmed with a pink-themed backdrop. Notably, in the other picture, Badosa was seen in a pink outfit which perfectly matched the theme of the Barbie movie. They further added a caption to those pictures, “1 🎟️ for #Barbie please, 1 🎟️ for #Oppenheimer please”

The former world no. 2 looks quite excited about the movies which will hit the cinemas on the same day. Surprisingly, one of the films, Barbie, also features her boyfriend’s favorite actress in the lead role.

The WTA player’s boyfriend, Stefanos Tsitsipas, has never shied away from expressing his adoration for the ‘Barbie’ actress, Margot Robbie. Even during a recent interview with BBC, the Greek tennis player was all praises for the Hollywood actress while he called her ‘dream doubles partner’ on the court.

In doing so, he snubbed his girlfriend, Paula Badosa, who later showcased her support for his decision on Twitter. She said, “Oh yeah, I totally support this #MargotFan”.
