When Canadian WTA star Bianca Andreescu won the 2019 US Open under seemingly impossible circumstances, she made the sign of the cross before accepting the trophy. After all, she had defeated the queen, Serena Williams, in front of her home crowd for a Grand Slam. Not to mention that with her victory, Andreescu became the first Canadian to ever win a single trophy in a Grand Slam, that too at 19 years of age. To the believers, if that was not an act of God, what was?

Unfortunately, the champion has had an injury-stricken 2023. Andreescu is now preparing for the upcoming Paris Olympics, set on making a comeback at the upcoming French Open after keeping eight months out of the court due to injury. But she is not participating in any tours, Andreescu engaged in candid conversations with her fans on social media revealing an interesting side of her religious beliefs.
