Many users and celebrities who are looking to exit Twitter,  have begun to post their account links and the owner on other social media platforms. This prompted Musk to come up with a new and restrictive policy. Alexis Ohanian was upset about the decision. He expressed his feelings to his followers on Twitter.

Serena Williams’ husband expresses his views on Twitter’s new policy

Lately, many users have been promoting their social media accounts on other platforms on their Twitter profiles. Users who request their fans to follow them on other platforms are now against the terms of service. As per the tweets by Twitter Headquarters, Twitter users are also prohibited to post links from external link aggregators.

Twitter accounts of people who do break the rules, can have a suspension. Serena Williams’ husband was quick to post his reaction on Twitter. The co-founder of a $10 billion social media platform was annoyed and displeased with the new policy.

Users were harshly critical of the platform’s new policy. The action appeared to contradict the principles of free and open internet. Users are no longer permitted to share their personal information on the platform. On Twitter, Elon Musk has been vocal in his support for free speech.

Ohanian was quick to tweet, “So… uhhh… can I link to my Reddit profile? 😓😓😓” In early November, Musk stated that he was such a staunch supporter of free speech that he would not prohibit Sweeney’s account from tracking his plane. Musk had described it as a clear threat to his safety. Sweeney’s accounts, including his one, remained suspended as of Sunday.

According to HuffPost, Twitter recently removed tweets about the new rule. In response to a significant backlash against the policy, Twitter removed the blog post that listed the competing websites including Facebook, Instagram, Mastodon, and Truth Social.

Ohanian had once shown support for Musk on Twitter

In a tweet, Musk allegedly stated that Twitter would not tolerate hate speech or negative tweets on its platform. Some users questioned whether it was a reasonable decision. However, Ohanian had expressed support for Musk’s ideas.
