Just after the release, Venus Williams highlighted Richard Williams’ contribution in making two of the best tennis players of all time.

Venus specifically pointed out the efforts and hardships her father has gone through. Despite having limited resources, Richard transformed the young girls into unbelievable players.

Speaking on the movie, Venus stated, ” I think you get to really see the ecosystem of my family. It’s not perfect, but all that matters is that you are going in the same direction together and building each other up. That’s what we did and that’s what we do.”

“People didn’t understand him but I think that it didn’t take long for people to realize that this is a guy who’s for his family, for his daughters, ride or die, no matter what,” she added further.

Venus Williams explained about the special role Richard Williams played in her and Serena’s lives. The seven-time Grand Slam champion also highlighted the determination Richard showed towards his daughters.

Venus’ reaction after watching the movie

Though the film was released about three days ago, Serena and Venus had already watched the movie before. After watching the amazing biopic, Venus Williams penned down an emotional message.

She wrote, ” It’s super emotional. I’ve seen the trailer, I’ve read the script, and every time I watch it my eyes are just watering. I think it was amazing to see the family atmosphere on the set and how much Demi and Saniyya really acted like Serena and I, even when the cameras weren’t rolling, like holding hands, and it was so sweet”.

Certainly, ‘King Richard’ has won a million hearts across the world, including Venus and Serena Williams.
