Emma Raducanu features in new Nike advert

The young star was part of Nike’s latest ‘What Are You Working on’ film in her hometown of Bromley. She returned to the tennis courts of her childhood and the Canada Heights Motocross track in Kent, where she went motocross and karting.

In the advert, Raducanu talks about her mentality as a kid saying “I was such a little perfectionist. I’d go c**zy if I didn’t like hit the balls in the right place. But I’ve definitely grown and learnt that perfection is not a destination.”

“I actually really like those moments of escape. Nothing else really matters. That moment before the ball bounces. You have no idea what’s going to happen. You know what like whatever happens, happens,” she concluded.

The 19-year-old is racing against time to be fully fit ahead of her home Grand Slam, Wimbledon. This will be the first appearance in the prestigious tournament for Raducanu after her success at Flushing Meadows last September.

Is Raducanu a future World No. 1?

The girl from Bromley has been impressive since her professional debut. However, in 2022, her results have not gone the same way. Raducanu has also struggled with her coaching team after searching for a fourth coach in a year after the split with Torben Beltz.

Moreover, the 19-year-old has struggled with injuries that have affected her form this year. But, at 19, the future is extremely bright for the Grand Slam winner. Young guns are dominating the current scene, led by the scintillating 20-year-old Pole, Iga Swiatek. However, we could see a lot more from Raducanu in the years to come.
