Pickleball is probably the fastest-growing sport in the United States right now. Currently, many pickleball players play at the tennis courts because of the lack of pickleball courts around the country. Recently, a big court battle took place in a small town between tennis players and pickleball players.

The congregational pastor of that small town posted the whole battle on his Twitter. Meanwhile, former 18-time Grand Slam champion, Martina Navratilova expressed her own views about tennis vs pickleball.

The situation became tense after the local pickleball players launched a petition to turn three of the eight tennis courts into pickleball courts. However, the tennis players were clearly against this, as they didn’t want to lose their courts. Meanwhile, the pickleball players independently raised funds to turn those tennis courts against any authorization. Safe to say, that irked the tennis players.

Meanwhile, former Czechoslovakian-American tennis player Navratilova took a dig at those pickleball players. According to her, you should build your own pickleball courts rather than take a tennis court. She tweeted, “I say if pickleball is that popular let them build their own courts:).”

Right now, people are still waiting to hear the final result. If the team pickle loses, they have to return all the donations they received from the fundraiser.

In 1965, 3 people at Bainbridge Island in the USA invented this sport, called pickleball. Interestingly, pickleball is a combination of ping-pong, tennis, and badminton. You can play this sport on a badminton-sized court where the net is 2 inches shorter than a normal tennis net. The paddle is a little bit bigger than a ping-pong paddle, whereas the ball is a little bit bigger than a tennis ball. However, it’s made out of plastic.

It’s pretty similar to tennis in terms of rules and regulations, but it’s much easier on the body than tennis. You don’t have to practice many hours learning this sport, as you can play it after practicing for a few minutes. Also, it’s a more fast-paced game than tennis, and players of any age can play this game.
