However, earlier this month, the 21-year-old tennis player also got involved in a hilarious act where she ditched Felix Auger-Aliassime and fellow United Cup teammates for a jump. Let’s take a look at what the Canadian player did that made her teammates feel betrayed.

When Fernandez betrayed her teammates

Team Canada took a trip to the famous Wylie’s Baths, one of Sydney’s oldest and most beautiful pools. All the team members were prepared to jump in the pool together. But when all the team players jumped, it was Fernandez who didn’t jump at all.

In a video shared by United Cup, she said, “You know when you’re about to get on a rollercoaster and you have all these emotions of like regret and thinking like I shouldn’t have done this, what am I doing, that’s exactly what was happening and I went with my thoughts and just didn’t jump in. I (was) just like ‘Wait I am not ready yet’.” After the incident, while the 21-year-old laughed her heart out, she carefully ended the pool after all her teammates had jumped into it.

Nevertheless, leaving everything aside, what are your thoughts on Fernandez’s response to the NHL victory? Do let us know in the comment section below.
