After the legendary Chris Evert went through it, her major rival, Martina Navratilova, also got the cancer-diagnosis some time back. It came at a very awkward time for her and her wife, Julia Lemigova, as the couple had decided to adopt a child. However, the two have some good news for fans of the Czech-American tennis legend.
Martina Navratilova was first diagnosed with cancer in 2010. Ever since then, life has been quite tumultuous for the 59-time Grand Slam winner. After six months of treatment, eventually, Navratilova was declared cancer-free.

Julia Lemigova talked about Martina Navratilova’s recovery on a recent Real Housewives of Miami episode. Lemigova was unable to hold back tears at the news she had received. Previously, the former model had revealed that the two had put their adoption plans on hold.
Lemigova shared how welcoming a child into the family requires one’s complete attention to be devoted to them. Since the two had to deal with Navratilova’s health first, they could not focus adequately on a kid, reasoned Lemigoya.

Lemigova also made a throwback comment. “Now, I would give anything to have dinner for two,“ she said through tears. The statement relates to when she famously complained on the show about having to cook dinner for two people. Evidently, she is ready to do whatever she can to make her wife happy now!

Martina Navratilova cancer free?
Navratilova discovered she had throat and breast cancer in January. Several plans that the tennis legend and her model wife Lemigova had made came to a screeching halt. However, the duo was soon in for some comforting news when the cancer was reported to be still at a decently treatable stage.

Navratilova has now been declared cancer-free. Fortunately, the nightmare is over for the power couple, as Navratilova revealed in a recent interview with Piers Morgan. Though there are some preventive radiation sessions left for Navratilova to ensure her complete recovery, she is out of danger at the moment.
Now that Navratilova is at better health, she and her wife are looking forward to their plans for adoption.
