Actors Demi Singleton and Saniyya Sidney, who got an opportunity to be working alongside legendary actor Will Smith in their young careers, proved their talent by coming up with an apt portrayal of Venus and Serena Williams on-screen.

King Richard opened up to positive reviews from critics and fans respectively and tennis fans are enjoying the story of the Williams household.

Actors Demi Singleton and Saniyya Sidney talk about their working experience with Will Smith

Both Demi and Saniyya had underwent immense tennis training sessions in order to make Serena and Venus look as real as possible on-screen. The actors, who came up on the Kelly Clarkson show recently, talked about their experience of working with Mr. Will Smith.

“I was definitely nervous meeting Mr. Will. He is the fresh prince of Bel Air. He is pretty phenomenal. He is so humble and so kind”, Demi Singleton said.

Saniyya, who portrayed the role of Venus in the movie, further explored the fun side of Will Smith.

“He has the best shoe game. The best shoe game I’ve ever seen. HE doesn’t tie his shoes”. 

When asked about Will’s tennis skills, both the actors unanimously agreed that he didn’t have to train as much as them.

Demi mentions how Richard Williams learnt tennis to train Venus and Serena Williams

“We did some very intense tennis training. But, Mr.Will didn’t. That’s mostly because Richard didn’t play. He didn’t know how to play tennis. He kind of taught himself in order to teach Serena and Venus. He had really no experience with the sport until he decided that he thought that would be best for his girls”, told Demi.

Demi concluded on a funny note by saying that playing against Will Smith made them feel good about their tennis.

“Mr. Will didn’t train as much as we did. Yeah, it was a lot of fun playing with him. Because I feel like it made us feel like we were soo good”. 

Both Serena and Venus Williams also acted as executive producers to the movie and participated in various promotional activities along with the main cast. Currently, the Williams sisters are preparing to make a comeback on the WTA tour next year.

While Serena Williams decided to pull out of the Australian Open next year, Venus is yet to reveal her status but in all likelihood, the elder Williams sister could make her way to Melbourne.
