Martina Navratilova and Julia Lemigova are two who have defied the odds many times when it came to the ailments of the former tennis player. Much of their lives revolved around Navratilova’s health issues in the last year. Lemigova and Navratilova had floated the idea of expanding their family, but it was put on hold after Navratilova’s cancer diagnosis.

But now, she has recovered completely, and the idea is back on the table. The former USSR model revealed it in an interview, and the giddiness in her voice could not be ignored as she talked about it.

For parents of the same sex, adoption is one of the ways to have a child in their lives. Lemigova has had three children before with different individuals. Now, she wishes to bear a child with her wife of 10 years. Navratilova and the former USSR model decided to adopt a child a while ago and will now be going through with their plans.

In an interview with Bravo TV, the RHOM star announced, “We’re renewing our plans for the adoption and maybe we’ll get a happy call anytime… [I’m] just living life at [the] fullest and I don’t think of tomorrow, I think of only today.” Lemigova will be a mother for the fourth time in her life and Navratilova will experience the ups and downs of parenthood for the first time.

Lemigova and Navratilova revealed their initial plans for adoption a while ago. However, with Navratilova’s diagnosis, they had to put an immediate pause on their plans.

Navratilova was diagnosed with cancer for the second time in her career at the end of 2022. She broke the news to the world in 2023. Lemigova then went on RHOM to announce that she and her wife’s plan for adoption is now on hold. She appeared in the Real Housewives of Miami reunion alongside host Andy Cohen. During that chat, the 50-year-old former model confessed that they have temporarily halted their adoption plans to focus on the 66-year-old tennis legend’s illness treatment.

She said that when a child comes into their life, everything has to be about the child, but their main priority had to be Navratilova for now. However, the two are about to enter a new phase of their lives and now can focus on their future baby.
