Recently, a film starring Will Smith as Richard Williams showcases his journey as a wonderful father of legendary daughters. However, the 80-year-old now maintains his distance from public space, back in 2009, in an interview, Richard Williams spoke about his decision to stay away from the media.

Richard claims he can do whatever he wants
Back in 2009, Richard Williams answered a question regarding his absence from the media. The host asked if he has mellowed down now, as ten years ago he made a lot of headlines but not anymore.” I don’t make as many headlines because I’ve asked parts of the media not to film me no more and I won’t do [a lot of] interviews no more,” he said.
Further, the 80-year-old said he can still make headlines if he wanted to. Also, he claimed that no one will refuse to take his interview if he asks for it.

Serena Williams made a shocking comeback to tennis after a long hiatus of almost a year. She will be participating in the Wimbledon Championship of 2022 and will start her campaign tomorrow. Addressing the media at a pre-tournament press conference, Serena clarified that she had never thought of retirement.
A reporter asked her if she came close to deciding to end her career during her long break. To which she said that she took a break as her body required time to heal from the injury.
