After completing his education in Ohio, the legendary American coach established the Rick Macci International Tennis Academy in Florida in 1985, which had been home to some of the tennis greats. During their younger days, the likes of Venus Williams, Serena Williams, Jennifer Capriati, and Maria Sharapova were under the tutelage of the seven-time USPTA national coach.

Even the 2003 US Open winner, Roddick, in his younger days, had honed his racket skills at Macci’s academy. For his technical knowledge and illustrious legacy in the game, the renowned American coach later became the youngest person to be inducted into the USPTA Hall of Fame. Given his notable list of clients who later tasted remarkable success on their respective tours, Macci could also be an ideal coach for the young British tennis star Emma Raducanu, who previously parted ways with Sebastian Sachs after a short period.

Even though there is a lot of skepticism surrounding the 21-year-old player owing to her injury woes, Macci is still optimistic about her comeback. Further, the American coach has recently come forward with a new interest or a project that might revive the former US Open champion’s competitive journey on the women’s tour.
