After playing for more than 20 years on the tour, no one can question Serena Williams’ talent on the tennis court. However, the American tennis legend also possesses many more talents. Once during the Australian Open, the 23-time Grand Slam champion showed her tremendous singing skills.

Back in 2013, before the start of the Australian Open, Serena Williams won the Brisbane tournament, which was incidentally her 47th career title. To celebrate her victory, she and her team, including Patrick Mouratoglou, gate-crashed a Chinese and Vietnamese restaurant.

Serena Williams’ impromptu karaoke performance

As she was enjoying the food at the restaurant, she suddenly hopped onto the stage and performed an impromptu karaoke. Notably, she was singing the famous ‘Your Song’ by Elton John with a local youngster named Andrew Jeffrey. An onlooker said, “It was like they’d been performing together for years,” about the legendary American’s performance.

Moreover, one person said that someone sang ‘Gold Digger’ by Kanye West, and when the lyric ‘she gonna have a a** like Serena’ came up, the whole restaurant started laughing and whistling with Serena in attendance.

One person in attendance said, “Serena was trying to keep a straight face but she didn’t do a very good job.”

It is worth noting that Serena is also a fashion icon, having walked the ramp on numerous occasions. Apart from that, she often posts reels on her Instagram, where she shows her dancing skills as well.

Serena is gradually evolving away from tennis

After getting injured at Wimbledon 2021, Serena was inactive on the tour for more than a year. During her time off the court, she was taking care of her businesses, including raising $111 million through her venture capital firm, Serena Ventures.

Apart from that, she attended many conferences where the principal topic was cryptocurrency. Serena also has her clothing brand and jewelry brand, S by Serena, and is one of the investors in the women’s soccer team, Angel City FC.

Meanwhile, the 23-time Grand Slam champion will play her last tournament at the US Open, which will commence on 29th August. Earlier, she announced her retirement through an essay in Vogue Magazine.
