National Bank Open 2021 Draw: Aryna Sabalenka to Face Victoria Azarenka, Bianca Andreescu Gets a Tough Path

After the successful completion of the Tokyo Olympics 2020, fans are now looking forward to the upcoming hard-court season. It is time for the Rogers Cup 2021 and the draw is out. Even though Ashleigh Barty and Naomi Osaka are not playing there, the Masters 1000 tournament will feature many big players like Aryna Sabalenka, Victoria Azarenka, and Bianca Andreescu.

World No.3 Aryna Sabalenka will begin as the top-seeded player at the National Bank Open 2021. After playing well at the Wimbledon Championships 2021, the Belarusian player will eye her second Masters tournament of the year in Toronto. She’ll face either Sloane Stephens or Dayana Yastremska in her first match.

World No.5 Bianca Andreescu will play at her home and will start as the second seed. She will encounter with the winner of the match between Leylah Annie Fernandez or a qualifier.

Tokyo Olympics 2020 bronze medal winner Elina Svitolina is right behind her in the seeds and will look for her first title in 2021. She’ll meet either Johanna Konta or Zhang Shuai in her first match.

Wimbledon Championships 2021 winner Karolina Pliskova is the fourth-seeded player while Garbine Muguruza will begin as the fifth seed.

There are a couple of amazing matches that fans can witness even in the first round. While Dayana Yastremska will face Sloane Stephens, Coco Gauff will battle against Anastasija Sevastova.

With the coming out of the draw, one can even look at the quarter-finals that will take place at the National Bank Open 2021. Interestingly, Sabalenka will probably go against 2-time Grand Slam champion and her compatriot, Victoria Azarenka.

In the other quarter-finals, Pliskova will face Muguruza while Kvitova might take on Svitolina. However, the most intriguing quarters match could be between the fans’ favourite Andreescu and 2-time National Bank Open winner, Simona Halep, who is making a return to tour after missing the French Open and the Wimbledon Championships 2021. Thus, the Canadian has a tougher path to win the title a compared to others.
