Swiatek received a heartwarming surprise from Swift during the latter’s Liverpool tour stop. The Polish star took to her official X handle to reveal the surprise to her fans. Sharing her picture in a hoodie, tears rolled down the cheeks of Swiatek as she held up the handwritten letter from Swift. Additionally, Swiatek wrote, “I’m dead. Yes, I cried many times during the show. Yes, it was incredible. You are amazing @taylorswift13.”

Swiatek even attended Swift’s concert in Anfield and is a huge fan of her. Additionally, Swiatek also considers Swift as her idol and someone she looks up to in her career. “You know, when I was younger and kind of confused about life and when I was a teenager, when I listened to her, I didn’t feel alone. Also, I learned English by listening to her songs, so she was always kind of close to me,” Swiatek once said about Swift’s impact.

Why is Iga Swiatek not the favorite to win the WTA Finals according to tennis bigwigs?

The year-ending championships in Riyadh is Swiatek’s first tournament after her US Open quarterfinal exit. She has made a significant change to her coaching team by replacing Tomasz Wiktorowski with Wim Fissette. Sabalenka on the other hand, has quietly rose to the top of the WTA rankings chart and has a golden opportunity to end the year as the World No. 1. Based on recent form, several eexpers Marek Furjan and CoCo Vandeweghe downplayed Swiatek’s chances in Riyadh.

While Furjan said, “The Polish woman is not the main favorite to win the WTA Finals, Aryna Sabalenka will play this role in Riyadh,” Vandeweghe questioned the addition of the new coach, saying, “I think Iga’s been so dominant but such a question mark with the new coach and how is she feeling.”

Swiatek is currently playing her second group-stage match against Coco Gauff after winning the opening battle against Barbora Krejcikova. Can she prove her critics wrong and defend her WTA Finals title? Let us know your views in the comments below.
