World’s former number-one tennis star Venus Williams has been an active advocate of gender equality in sports. Recently, Venus Williams attended Dove’s football game to ‘help nurture girls’ self-belief and confidence’ where she was spotted grooving to Usher’s music.

Venus Williams’s objective in participating in Dove’s #KEEPHERCONFIDENT event was to motivate young female athletes to take up serious interests in sports. Along with bringing more enthusiasm to these young girls, the big one of the Williams sisters took the opportunity to show her unique side to the fans.

In her official Instagram profile, Venus Williams shared a clip of her wearing Dove’s t-shirt from the event and grooving to famous rapper Usher’s music. Sharing the clip herself, Venus Williams wrote- “Reminiscing on my afternoon spent with @dove! The energy was high with our team for the most epic flag football game! ⚡️🏈#DovePartner #keepherconfident #dancingwithvenus.” The world’s former number-one seemed quite enthusiastic about the event.

She said- “I am excited to be working with Dove on this initiative to help nurture girls’ self-belief and confidence, foster a positive environment, and shift the conversation from appearance to capability.” Venus Williams recently shared some images from the event on her official Instagram channel. She was spotted with Steve Young and Jason Kelce’s wife Kylie Kelce for the football event. Venus Williams hugged the kids and became one of the team’s coaches for the day.

Venus Williams’s participation in the event truly made it more successful. For kids, it was of a one-of-a-lifetime opportunity to meet the legendary tennis star and receive guidance from her. In fact, Venus Williams vowed to encourage female athletes to play despite any odds.

She said- “People are literally paid to say stuff. That’s their job. To write an article or say something on TV. and a lot of times people are saying things because guess what? they can’t do it. And so, if they could, they would, but they can’t, but you will!”

Williams’s recent gesture for young female athletes in the Dove’s football event truly stole fans’ hearts. They were amazed seeing the tennis legend being so down-to-earth and vocal for female athletes.
