The 18-year-old American recently graduated from high school and is aiming to reignite her position as one of the top players in the WTA. In an interview with The Palm Beach Post, Gauff talked about her schooling and the challenges that come with it.

Coco Gauff first set the sights of the world on her after she won 3 WTA tournaments and beat Venus Williams in the Australian Open. She has been ranked as number 4 in singles and number 1 in doubles.

The interviewer asked her a question about her high school, to which she gave an interesting answer. The question inquired about whether she felt any regrets about not going to a traditional school.

Her reply was quite mature and professional. Gauff has no regrets about going to an online school. Since she had to travel a lot for tennis, it left her with little choice. But she did not miss out on anything and made friends on her journey around the world. She added that since she lived in Florida, most tennis players who are serious about their career attended online schooling. Therefore, she felt that it was normal and was comfortable with it.

In an interview with The Palm Beach Post, her exact words were, “I have no regrets regarding my schooling with all the friendships I’ve made through traveling. I wouldn’t trade that for anything. What made it better living in Florida is you don’t meet many top tennis players who didn’t do an online school. It was quite the norm here.

She further said, “Living here made it not as abnormal as it seems. If I lived in another state, I’d have a different answer. Since it’s so normal for tennis players in Florida to do an online school, I didn’t feel not normal. Sitting at an academy like here, we sat in the shade doing homework.”
