A plethora of tennis fans think the former world No. 1, Serena Williams, and her sister, Venus Williams, have moved away from the tennis court after the US Open. However, their former coach, Rick Macci, has a different belief about the Williams sisters. The seven-time USPTA national coach recently got featured in an interview where he talked about his tennis journey.

Macci also talked about the Williams sisters. He further stated that the American tennis sisters will still dominate doubles tennis for many “more years” of their journey.

Rick Macci talked about Venus and Serena Williams’ return to the tennis court

During his interview, Macci was asked about Venus Williams’ plans of playing tennis and her return to the court. He answered, “In my opinion, this is my opinion and so far my opinion on a lot of these things well before it’s happened. I’ve been right about the comeback and you know all these things.”

The former American coach has previously trained some of the greatest tennis players, including the 23 Grand Slam title champion, Serena. He also trained her sister, Venus Williams. Macci went on to say, “So, I think Serena and Venus are still going to play doubles, and I think they’ll pack the house I think they’ll still play mixed doubles. You only cover half the court they still got great serves they still got brutal returns the points are shorter. “

The former coach also stated that he doesn’t think anybody would want to play a doubles event against the Williams sisters as they are still very dominating. Macci added that if the American tennis sisters get a wild card entry in Grand Slam doubles events like the Wimbledon and the Australian Open, then they will still dominate their opponents. He further stated, “they can still play doubles for two or three more years ” of their tennis journey.

Macci compared Venus Williams to Michael Jordan

During the interview, Macci talked about his opinion of the 7 Grand Slam title champion. He further stated that Venus could have been a much more better player during her tennis journey. The USPTA national coach went on to say he believes that Venus is a gifted and talented player.

Macci added that the American tennis star could jump higher than any other player on the WTA tour. He then called Venus the next “Michael Jordan” as she jump very high on the tennis court. However, Macci also stated that Venus changed her game a little bit when she started her pros. Later, he also talked about her coaching experience with Venus when she was a 15-year-old girl.
