Serena Williams’ husband and Angel City FC chief stakeholder, Alexis Ohanian, addressed a variety of topics in a recent interview with SportsCentre. One of the subjects he discussed is how their daughter, Olympia Ohanian, is the 23-time Grand Slam Champion’s primary focus.

Alexis Ohanian is one of the most successful internet entrepreneur and investor from the United States. He is most known for co-founding and serving as executive chairman of the social media site Reddit alongside two other partners.

In the interview, Alexis Ohanian expressed how proud he is of his wife as her inspiring career has opened opportunities for athletes and many others across multiple disciplines.

Replying to the host’s question about Serena’s next passion, he said, “I mean really as of this moment it’s Olympia. It is the amazing 5-year old that we made that I am so grateful for, because you know Serena sacrificed a lot just to bring Olympia to this world”.

Serena Williams married American tech entrepreneur Alexis Ohanian in November 2017, two months after their daughter Olympia was born. Despite reaching the pinnacle as a professional tennis player, the younger Williams sister has figured out where her priorities lie, now that she has moved on from tennis. Apart from this, Ohanian discussed how important Olympia is in their lives at the moment and that the legacy they were leaving is right now their daughter.

The 40-year-old recently announced her retirement from tennis after one more attempt at the US Open title. While she indicated a desire to grow her family, the tennis champion also exposed the difficulties of being a woman in professional sports. In this respect, the American Ace referred to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Tom Brady, who will be 45 years old this season and will be playing in his 23rd NFL season.

Serena’s honest revelation about her retirement

Serena revealed in her Vogue Magazine essay, “Believe me, I never wanted to have to choose between tennis and a family. I don’t think it’s fair. If I were a guy, I wouldn’t be writing this because I’d be out there playing and winning while my wife was doing the physical labour of expanding our family.”
