World No.1 Ashleigh Barty is in the finals of the Australian Open 2022. The Aussie is looking in top form, and hasn’t dropped even a single set in the last 6 matches. Having an aggressive style of play, Barty is often appreciated by top names of the sport for her game.  

Star coach Patrick Mouratoglou also seems to be impressed by her. Mouratoglou is one of the most celebrated names of the sport and is the coach of Serena Williams and Stefanos Tsitsipas.

Mouratoglou appreciates Barty’s aggressive style of play

2-time Grand Slam champion Barty is known for her aggressive style of play. Staying on her toes always, Ashleigh often makes her opponents struggle against her massive strokes. Patrick Mouratoglou took to his Twitter, admiring the player.

Ashleigh Barty and her unstoppable Australian Open 2022 campaign

Winning the Adelaide International 1, top seed and home favorite Ashleigh Barty entered Melbourne Park as the top contender for the title. She started off her Australian Open 2022 campaign against qualifier Lesia Tsurenko, dropping just 1 game to the Ukrainian. Having a confident first-round start, she next went on to beat Italian qualifier Lucia Bronzetti, again, dropping just 2 games.

The third and the fourth round saw a similar picture with Ashleigh cruising through the 2 rounds with complete ease. In the quarter-final, she beat 21st seed American Jessica Pegula, yet again, dropping just 2 games.

Being just one step away from the finals, Barty entered the semi-final with utmost confidence. Taking on American star Madison Keys, Barty hit 20 winners, sealing the match in just 1 hour and 2 minutes. 

She will now take on the winner of Danielle Collins and Iga Swiatek, with the hope to win her first Australian Open title.
