Even though Serena Williams has had a long off-season, she hasn’t been away from tennis much. To prepare herself for the major tournament, the current World No. 11 had a long productive pre-season training schedule. “Well, [I] worked hard in my little offseason that I got,” Serena said.

However, her next big challenge was the two-week quarantine and the 5-hour limit of practice every day in Australia. But the presence of her French coach helped smoothen things out.

“Having Patrick around those two weeks that we were in quarantine, and all we could do is play and focus. Whenever he’s around full-time, we get so much accomplished, and our goals are so in line with each other that so many fabulous things happen. I think that’s what’s happening,” she added.

Presently, she is looking forward to battling compatriot Danielle Rose Collins in the quarterfinals of the tournament. Given her last dominating win against Tsvetana Pironkova, her rivals are duly warned.

As for the Australian Open 2021, Serena has a big chance to claim it this year. And if she continues to play the way she has been so far, no one can stop her from winning the Happy Slam.
