Richard Williams, the father of Serena Williams and Venus Williams, managed to take his daughters to new heights by teaching them tennis. His efforts were returned tenfold as the two would become some of the greatest players of WTA, pulling the family out of poverty. However, not all is good in paradise, as Richard is going through quite a messy divorce. The drama began back in 2017 and has not concluded yet.
We have seen many facets come into play ever since the news of the divorce came to light. Another development was seen recently from the side of Lakeisha Graham on her social media.

Serena Williams’ father’s divorce drags on
According to court documents, the couple has been fighting for the last six years in family and civil courts after the father of the Williams sisters discovered that his wife Lakeisha Graham forged the title deeds on his Florida home into her name. She further remortgaged the property for $279k and blew the lot on a failed trucking and “fast food” business. Richard and his son, Chavoita LeSane, have been through turmoil trying to rectify the situation.

Graham, earlier this month, was seen enjoying her birthday on a night out. She shared a few pictures on her Instagram page, showing her donning a green dress and standing in front of a car. On the other hand, King Richard shared a selfie on his Facebook page where he looked frail, a stark contrast to Graham’s social media.

LeSane and Richard later also discovered that Graham had been forging his social security checks and selling his cars behind his back. LeSane has promised to file an elder abuse lawsuit, which has not materialized so far. The debacle began all the way back in 2017 when divorce was filed after Richard accused Graham of forging papers.
The crux of the debacle
Richard met Lakeisha Graham in 2009 and wed her in 2010. The marriage stayed afloat for quite some time before a divorce was eventually filed in 2017. Richard and his stepson claim that Graham had forged papers on their Florida mansion, which is currently in shambles. As the battle for the property continues, the house is heavily damaged and in immediate need of repairs.

Earlier in September, some good news did come Richard’s way as a court dismissed Graham’s plea that her husband had signed the papers. However, given that he developed dementia, the judge stated that he did not sign the papers in a stable state of mind. Despite the statement, there is no end in sight to their battle. How do you think it will conclude?
