Alexis Ohanian has undoubtedly earned the title of the “best husband” and “best dad” after his equation with Serena Williams and Olympia respectively. However, it was not always like this. He was a workaholic in the first decade of his career when he was working on Reddit. At that point, he was focused on his career, and now he focuses more on his family and personal growth.
This is something that the co-founder of $10 billion worth of Reddit has done. Moreover, he understands that though one wants to strive for work-life balance, it is not possible to do that.

Alexis Ohanian on finding “work-life balance” with Serena Williams and Olympia
The Reddit co-founder might have left his $10 billion worth of brainchild behind. However, his tech and entrepreneurial success continues as his other business endeavors like 776, a venture fund organization thrives.
But he has also realized that creating a business empire can not supersede his time with his family. And though the notion of maintaining a perfect work-life balance might exist, it is not practical in real-life situations.
Recently, in an interview with Entrepreneur, he said, “I don’t think it’s about work-life balance. I don’t think anyone can really accomplish that. It’s not about balancing.” He went deeper to explain the reality of it all with the help of Marvel’s supervillain. He said, “If you’re chasing balance, you’re implying, like Thanos, (that) you’d be able to create something perfectly balanced.”

But life does not work like a Marvel movie. Ohanian gave a reality check by stating, “And the reality is work-life (is) never 50/50.” Clearly implying that it is impossible and is just a flowery idea, he said, “You’ll never achieve anywhere close to that — nor should you.”
Ohanian himself has decided where he wants to be. He gets his work done. However, he knows where his priorities lie and that is something he does not compromise upon. Recently, he made sure to let his growing daughter know what it means to her.
