Serena Williams’ Husband Alexis Ohanian Relives Old Backpacking Days in Greece

Alexis Ohanian, following his marriage to Serena Williams, became one of the most influential power couples in the world. The duo married in 2017 and have a daughter named Olympia. Both Williams and Ohanian are active users of social media, with their posts and tweets updating their fans about their day-to-day activities.

The Reddit founder has been spotted on Tour supporting his wife, before a bad injury kept her out from competitive action.

Ohanian relives old days in Greece

Ohanian, who is of Armenian descent, uploaded a post from his younger days. One of the posts read, “On this day in 2002. Backpacking through Greece from Corfu to Athens one bus ride at a time.” This was alongside a picture of Corfu, a Greek island.

The name of their daughter Olympia also is famous in Greek mythology. Like her husband, Williams has been seen posing with her family, attending various shows including the premiere of King Richard.

Ohanian and Serena Williams: the relationship timeline

Serena and Ohanian first met in Rome in 2015 while staying at the same hotel. After dating for a brief period, they welcomed their daughter in September 2017. Two months after her birth, the couple got married in a private ceremony in New Orleans.

Since then, the couple have been invitees at the Royal Wedding between long-time friend Meghan Markle and Prince Harry. However, Williams at 40 is still far from finished on the professional tennis circuit. The 23-time Grand Slam champion recorded her last major win at the 2017 Australian Open.

With injuries and fitness issues, Williams is also not in the Top 40 of the rankings. However, despite being one Slam away from the all-time record of 24 set by Margaret Court, the American could still pull one final rabbit out of the hat.

Williams will hope to make a return to her home tournaments after the end of Wimbledon this month. The ongoing controversy of ranking points at the tournament has left her participation in doubt. However, she is still a few months away from a competitive return.
