Alexis Ohanian shares 8-bit selfie on Twitter and reveals the secret to it

The 8-bit selfie is reminiscent of classic video games like Super Mario and The Legend of Zelda, evoking a sense of nostalgia for many who grew up in the era of Atari and Nintendo consoles. The pixelated avatar has since become a talking point among social media users, as they admire the blend of old-school design with the modern trend of selfies.

Along with his selfie, he also posted, “8-bit selfie today in NYC”. After this post went viral, one of the Twitter users commented, “Pulled out your old Motorola startac?”. With this comment, the user wanted to point out that Alexis has taken this picture with one of his very old phones which could possibly be a Motorola Startac.

But to everyone’s shock, Alexis responded, “I wish I could have gotten that one. I had one of these”. Along with this response, he also added an image of a very old model of a Nokia phone. His old-school selfie definitely struck a chord in a lot of people as they reminisced the days when having a phone that had a popping green light with no camera was still a flex.

Twitter users continue to engage with Alexis’ post with funny comments

It was not just one user who interacted with his post. One after the other people continued to comment on his 8-bit selfie thread. One of the users added a comment saying that Alexis was looking great owing to a sarcastic and fun remark as clearly Alexis’ face in the picture is not at all visible.

One of the people also commented that they thought the image is being downloaded and that is why it is pixelated.
