Serena Williams’ husband thanks his parents for keeping childhood items safe

The husband of Serena Williams is well known for his role in founding the microblogging site Reddit. But many of his ardent followers also know him for being an avid collector. When he was a child, Ohanian loved reading Marvel comics. He bought many comics that are rare these days and kept them in mint condition to show them off later. That time has finally arrived, and Ohanian showed off his collection on his Instagram story.

In the picture, he showed classic comics such as Wolverine Reunion, X-Force, Captain America, and War Machine. Beneath those comics were many more comics that he hid from plain view from his followers. Along with the picture, he wrote the caption, “Thanks for not throwing these out, mom and dad!” Aside from comic books, Ohanian has also collected cards of various athletes.

Ohanian is an avid card collector of various sports personalities. Thus, when Lionel Messi’s card came into his possession, he was bound to congratulate the soccer star for this achievement. But his wife also has a legendary card which has gone viral. Serena Williams created a record when a 2003 NetPro signed patch rookie card of hers fetched $266,400, according to the Athletic. 

The previous record was half the price of her card, and it was graded a PSA 8 AUTO 10. Sports cards are loved by fans and avid collectors around the world. With Williams’ cards making history, her husband will surely try to possess it soon.
