Since last month, Serena Williams is making the headlines with her much-awaited comeback to tennis. Last year, she suffered a hamstring injury at Wimbledon that forced her to miss the remainder of the 2021 season and the start of this season. After being away from tennis for around a year, the American legend announced her comeback plans during the grass-court season.

Serena teamed up with Ons Jabeur to play in the Eastbourne International to warm up for the Wimbledon Championships. Subsequently, she received a wildcard entry into the main draw of the grass-court Grand Slam tournament. However, her singles comeback didn’t go according to her plans. Serena bowed out of the tournament early, losing against Harmony Tan of France in the opening round. Despite the defeat, she has inspired countless others with her fighting spirit, and among them is her sister, Venus Williams.
