The 2022 tennis season is finally underway. However, one of the biggest names in tennis, Serena Williams, has not yet confirmed her participation in it. Williams has been out of professional tennis since her hamstring injury after Wimbledon 2021.

The 40-year-old megastar has been spending most of her time with family since her withdrawal. Serena and her husband Alexis often take to social media to share their adorable memories and instances with their daughter, Olympia.

Serena Williams wishes to be a child forever

The 23-time Grand Slam champion posted a bunch of endearing photographs with her daughter Olympia on Instagram. In one of the pictures, the two are looking straight into the camera, while Serena Williams pretends to roar at the lens.

4-year-old Olympia is quite the poser too, holding up the ‘okay’ sign as she leans on Serena. In the caption, Serena wrote down a wish she has for both Olympia and herself. “Have you ever wished you could be a child forever, Williams wrote alongside the post.

In the next picture of the same post, the two Williams women pout their lips for the camera. Clearly, Serena Williams and her daughter have the time of their lives together.

Alexis Ohanian, Serena’s husband, commented on the post with the heart-eyes emoji. Moreover, even fans can not get enough of Serena and Olympia, as the comments section was flooded with fans from all over the world expressing love for the mother-daughter duo.

Surely, it is understandable that Serena wishes for her daughter to stay a child forever. After all, the innocence of a toddler is unparalleled, and Serena Williams wants to preserve that forever.

No word yet on Serena’s return

Williams has not yet released any word about her comeback to tennis. After her hamstring injury forced her to withdraw from the US Open last year, she has not returned to the tour.

Moreover, Serena, who had been looking like a potential draw for the 2022 Australian Open, had to withdraw from that tournament as well. According to her medical team, she was not ready yet. Thus, the wait to watch Serena take to the court was extended yet again.
