Serena Williams hung her racket this season. She bid adieu to over 25-year-long illustrious career of her on the hard courts of the home-based Grand Slam. That is the US Open. Now the 23-time Grand Slam champion will divert her energy toward her business and precious family of three.

Speaking of her family time, Williams shared one of the most adorable mother-daughter moments recently. She uploaded a clip of her and Olympia, playing some fun games.

Williams played her last match on September 3rd. In the presence of her fans and close ones, she stepped into the second phase of her life. And from that half of her life, the latest update consisted of her and the five-year-old singing and playing around. She captioned the clip, “I got tired of running around. So I taught her this game, and she loves it.”

The mother-daughter duo can be seen sitting opposite to each other singing the bubblegum song with a twist. Olympia was singing the “Princess Princess in a dish.” And Williams interrupted and pitched in with, “Can you do bubblegum bubblegum in a dish?” To which Olympia responded, “I don’t think you… You never heard this one.”

Williams: “Okay”

Olympia continued: “Princess Princess in a dish. How many dresses do you wish?”

Williams: “I like that one.”

Olympia: “I wish seven dresses.”

Further, Olympia is the former world no.1’s biggest cheerleader. She traveled to England just to show support for her in the comeback at the grass courts of Wimbledon. Also, she was present at the US Open and performed a really cool celebratory handshake with Williams after her opening round victory.

The retirement tour of Williams

The six times champion decided to bid farewell to the sport after one last participation in the US Open. She enrolled for the WTA 1000 events of Canada and Cincinnati to oil her skills for the last dance.

Although Williams failed to produce an impactful run in both the tournaments, she gathered enough to keep her record intact in the Grand Slam. The 40-year-old, managed to get past her first two opponents and secured a seat in the last 32 of the majors. And with that, she marked the end of her legendary career.
