Following his Oscar victory, RDJ dropped a major hint about his future, which invited a strong reaction from his super fan, Serena Williams.

After finishing the story of Tony Stark, aka Iron Man, in Avengers: Endgame, Robert Downey Jr. stepped away from Marvel. But he recently revealed to Variety that he would “happily” return to Marvel after winning an Oscar. Williams shared this on her official Twitter handle and tweeted, “This is what I’ve been waiting on.”

Could he don the iconic red and gold armor again? Who knows?! Meanwhile, this comes as good news for Williams, who has been an ardent follower of Downey Jr. She never fails to watch his movies and was also left impressed by his Oscar win. Moreover, before the Wimbledon Championships a couple of years back, she donned a similar pair of glasses as Tony Stark in Iron Man, proving how big a fan she was of Iron Man.

Apart from Williams, it is an exciting update for Millions of Marvel fans as they’ll potentially get to see Downey Jr. in the franchise’s movie again. He went on to reveal why he would like to return to Marvel again.

The 59-year-old superstar was recently interviewed by Variety after winning the Academy Awards for the first time. During the conversation, he was asked if he would ever return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe now that he had won the Oscar.

Replying to this question, Downey Jr. said, “Happily. It’s too integral a part of my DNA. That role chose me. And look, I always say, ‘Never, ever bet against Kevin Feige.’ It is a losing bet. He’s the house. He will always win.”

However, it remains to be seen in what role and capacity Downey Jr. returns to Marvel.
