Although the quarantine at the Australian Open 2021 has ended for most of the players, many found it quite strict. There were many restrictions and players could not move out freely and willingly. Recently, Serena Williams shared her experience at the Australian Open 2021 bubble with her 3-year-old daughter Olympia.

In a recent interview, Serena Williams revealed how difficult it was for her to spend the quarantine with Olympia. She admitted that spending some time with a 3-year-old, especially after training, is quite a tough task.

“To be in a room with a 3-year-old and being her best friend is definitely difficult, especially after training and working out. Then, it’s like oh my gosh it never ends,” said Williams in the interview.

Even though Williams claimed that it was a challenge to remain in the quarantine with her daughter, she also said that she fun with her best friend there. She highlighted that she just loves to spend more and more time with her.

“It was fun, it is always. Honestly, I wouldn’t trade anything spending hours with her…it was really fun,” added the 23-time Grand Slam champion.

“Promised her that we would take her to the zoo”- Serena Williams

Williams also mentioned her recent trip to the zoo. She revealed that she had earlier promised her daughter that she would take her to the zoo once the quarantine would get over.

“We went to the zoo because we had a calendar in our room and every day, we marked an ‘x’ on the days that went by and a big circle on the quarantine ending day. We promised her that we would take her to the zoo to see Koalas and Kangaroos, so yeah,” continued the tennis queen.

Fans also saw Williams sharing the pictures of the first tennis lessons of Olympia recently. However, she claimed that she never wanted to make her play tennis at such a young age.

“I never wanted her to play tennis. But, when all this pandemic happened and I was like well, it’s the only thing we can do and be socially distant. So, why not,” concluded the American player.

Williams recently got to a great start as she defeated Naomi Osaka in an exhibition match in Adelaide. She’ll now advance to the Australian Open 2021, where she’ll be eyeing her 24th Grand Slam title. Will Serena be able to win her first Grand Slam title after the delivery of her daughter in Melbourne this year?
