

Serena Williams, after inspiring many and claiming several remarkable records, said goodbye to tennis this year. She achieved success in almost every surface and tournament. However, the grass courts of London always had a special place in her heart.

Williams’ majority of Grand Slam titles other than the Australian Open came from the Wimbledon Championships. The 23 times Grand Slam champion marked seven seasons of the tournament under her name. Therefore, when she spoke about having a grass court at her home, it didn’t surprise fans.
The kind of house Serena Williams wants
Back in the year, 2016, Williams shared how she wanted to build a grass court at her place. She said, “Probably a grass court at home is the ultimate dream. It would be so great, because it could be a great court, but it could also be a wonderful landscaping feature when you’re not using it.”

Thereafter, she mentioned, “I hit on Jack Nicklaus’s grass court in Florida at his house. That’s where I trained before Wimbledon, and it was just a really good experience.”
The American professional golfer, famously known as the golden bear, owns a lavish home at North Palm Beach, Florida.

The approximate 16 million dollar property apart from having a superb view and magnificent interiors harbor a grass court, which not only provides recreation but also multiplies the beauty of the place. Further, the court prepared the former World no.1 for Wimbledon perfectly. She defended her title flawlessly against Angelique Kerber. The German faced straight sets defeat of 5-7 3-6.
Williams’ last dance
The 40-year-old, after staying on the sidelines for over a year, made a comeback in London and broke the news of her retirement. Williams following her opening round defeat in Wimbledon enrolled for the Canadian and Cincinnati Masters so that she could regain her old form for the US Open.

However, in both the WTA 1000 events, she failed to clear the initial rounds. Though riding high on fans’ support, she entered the home-based Grand Slam. And keeping their smiles and her record intact, she executed a round of 32 run. Thereafter, with teary eyes, Williams said goodbye to the sport.
