Serena Williams’s Former Coach Mocks Cameraman After Danielle Collins Gets Denied Spotlight During Crucial Moments in the Miami Open Final

Serena Williams‘ former coach Rennae Stubbs dropped her disappointment over the cameramen of the Miami Open tournament. America’s WTA Pro Danielle Collins recently defeated Elena Rybakina to bag this Masters 1000 title. However, Stubbs feels that the victory was not documented properly.

Danielle Collins has already announced that she will retire from professional tennis after this season. The Miami Open might mark one of the last achievements of her career. However, the tournament’s camera operators might not feel the same way.

Famous coach Rennae Stubbs recently took her official X (formerly Twitter) to share her anguish over the Miami Open tournament’s cameras not showing enough clips of Collins when she won the championship. Stubbs wrote on her Twitter- “Talk to me’ !!! Please @WTA or @atptour whoever is in charge of the cameras keep it on Danielle right now!!!!!!!! Please!!!! I don’t want to see the crowd! She is the story! The talking to her box is what we need to see!!! 

Serena Williams’s former coach clearly got mad over this act of the broadcasting committee of the tournament. However, she didn’t stop there and dropped one more tweet to show her disappointment.

Rennae Stubbs commented about how the cameras projected the Kazakhstani tennis player Elena Rybakina even though Collins was the winner of the tournament. She wrote- “And omg she goes to hug her team and they put the camera on Rybakina!! WTF !!!!! Ughhhhhhhhh”

Given that the Miami Open is a Masters 1000 tournament, the fraternity expected its organizing committee to be more specific and appropriate in their work. However, the act of the camera operators out there in the stadium angered people including Rennae Stubbs.

Nevertheless, it was a remarkable victory for Danielle Collins over Elena Rybakina, as the American won in straight sets, 7-5,6-3. Despite the incredible win, Collins maintained a very grounded attitude.

Collins said she had never experienced ‘anything like it’ after her Miami Open victory

Despite the cameras being a little ignorant about her victory, Collins didn’t seem to get affected by it at all. Rather she expressed her happiness post-victory. Collins commented“In my home state, to come out here in front of thousands of my best friends pushing me to get over this hurdle, I was getting very emotional. It was an incredible environment. I’ve never experienced anything like it.”

Danielle Collins’s Miami Open 2024 victory is a great example of dedication in the world of tennis. However, as Rennae Stubbs feels that Collins’s achievement wasn’t displayed as much as it should have been.

Despite getting less screen time, Danielle Collins is content with her own achievements, and nothing can be more beautiful For fans and the tennis fraternity, Collins will always be one of the true stars worthy of all the limelight.
