Alexis Ohanian is always there to cheer and support his wife, Serena Williams. He makes sure to bring their beloved daughter, Olympia, with him to boost Williams’ morale. These values, as per him, were acquired from his parents. He attributed his parents’ journey to the relationship and partnership skills that he has learned.

He has used them to be successful both in his personal and professional life. The adorable bond of the Williams-Ohanian family is something that we can make out, comes from an equal partnership.

Alexis Ohanian credits his parents for his successful marriage with Serena Williams

The fruit does not fall far away from the tree. Ohanian lives up to the idiom as he replicates the behavior of his parents in his relationship. Both migrated from outside of America and did their best to raise their children. In 2019, he talked about his successful marriage with Serena Williams.

He said, “I credit my parents with a lot of what I’ve learned about partnership and relationships.” He shared his parents’ love story where one had come from Armenia and the other from West Germany. They had met in Ireland. He said, “Even though my dad didn’t speak any German and my mom spoke only basic English, they fell in love.” He further talked about the sacrifices his mother had to make.

He said, “She followed my father to America and worked as an au pair.” Moreover, she had lived in America as an undocumented person till she got married. He said, My mom had to hit reset on her whole life.” His mother worked odd jobs till she got her GED. Whereas, “in Germany, she was almost credentialed to be a pharmacist.”

Ohanian learned from his parents to prioritize children

After that too, she worked as a pharmacy technician and not as a pharmacist, “just so she’d be able to be around when I (Alexis Ohanian) came home from school.” Furthermore, he talked about his father. He said, “Meanwhile, my father logged long hours to put food on the table and give us the best life he possibly could.”
