Parents are always worried about their children’s future. Former American tennis star Serena Williams and her husband Alexis Ohanian have started planning for their daughter Olympia. While the two have decided to let the five-year-old chase her dreams, they both have a couple of options in their mind.

Two years ago in an interview, Alexis Ohanian revealed what he expects from Olympia in the future. Also, the Reddit cofounder revealed a remarkable fact about Olympia that makes Serena jealous.

What makes Serena Williams jealous?

Speaking in an interview with CNN, Ohanian spoke about the future career options of his daughter Olympia. While the 39-year-old would love to see her become a business owner, she has athletic skills too. However, instead of following her mother and playing tennis, the five-year-old loves playing soccer with her father.

“I would love for her to be a professional athlete. Serena admits that when she sees Olympia running around with a soccer ball, having a great time playing with me, she gets a little jealous. But don’t worry, Olympia is really great with a racket, too,” Ohanian said.

While Serena herself is a champion athlete, Ohanian also has a special interest in women’s sports. Being with Serena, the 39-year-old has followed women’s sports closely. He also understands the huge market potential it has for the future. However, there’s one very important condition for them to allow Olympia to pursue sports.

Condition for Olympia to choose sports

While Serena and Alexis have no problem with whatever career path she chooses, they have one very strict condition for her to go into sports. The 41-year-old specifically mentioned that Olympia will choose sports as a career only if they pay her what she is worth.

Serena here was referring to the pay disparity that exists between male and female athletes. While the pay for endorsements and sponsorships is significantly lesser, what is saddening to see is the fact that even the prize money they earn is not the same.
